Live Entertainment for Any Occasion

MidLifeCrisis is a rockin' power quintet that delivers a unique blend of current and classic rock hits in a crazed danceable atmosphere. Our current song list has been completely shaped by fan requests. Scientists in our secret underground musical laboratory have carefully re-orchestrated these songs so that they are sure to please a broad range of musical tastes and age groups. Our mission statement is simple, “MidLifeCrisis will provide a memorable evening of not only enjoyable music but also great live entertainment and a few surprises mixed in”.

Who Is MidLifeCrisis Anyway?

Lee Steel

Lead Vocals, Bass, Guitar, Wigs

Lee spent most of his professional music career in the Tampa Bay area where he recorded and performed with many bands, but most notably with Fair Warning, Rich Rags, and Deloris Telescope.

Going on his 10th year in New England, Lee characterizes MidLifeCrisis' mission as an opportunity to bring a little of Florida’s fun and sun to the north east. “We just want to show our audience a good time and put on a show that will allow them to enjoy a night out and forget about their troubles”.

Lee's main influences are vocal greats Gary Puckett and David Clayton Thomas, and guitar playing influences Frank Zappa and former band mate Kacy Ross.

Gary Zemanek

Vocals, Drums, Percussion

Gary has been playing the drums as long as he can remember and was born and raised in Connecticut with sticks in his hands. Taking out his animal aggression by beating on things has always been

Gary’s favorite pastime and he has performed with several local bands dating all the way back to his school days. Before joining MidLifeCrisis, Gary played in The Dessert Gerbils with Lee and Jerry B., and a Massachusetts based group, Wishful Thinking.

Gary, together with Lee provide a well-balanced, earth shaking rhythm section which is the foundation of MidLifeCrisis. Gary’s musical influences are Carl Palmer, Keith Moon, and John Bonnham.

Warren Hartzell

Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard, Violin, Harmonica

Warren is the "strait-man" of MLC, adding comedic balance to Lee and Gary's lunacy. He has spent over two decades in the Connecticut area playing with many well known New England based groups such as The Rockets, Mason Dixon, and After the Fact (with local radio celebrity, Sebastian).

Warren is a very well rounded singer/songwriter and is an accomplished musician on a wide variety of instruments. Warren adds gravity to a group that might have otherwise been hurled into deep space. Warren's main influences include Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, and Leon Redbone.

Philip Nathan

Guitar, Banjo, Vocals, Props

Philip Nathan began teaching himself guitar at the age of 15 in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Influenced by the infamous Slash of "Guns N Roses," he was determined to be a guitar "player." Somewhere along the line, he began a transformation that, to this day, is constantly developing the way that he listens to, composes, and appreciates music across many genres.

In recent years, Philip has dedicated his time and self-disciplined study towards "fingerstyle" folk and bluegrass flatpicking. Constantly inspired by the likes of Leo Kottke, and John Fahey, he is always pickin', grinnin' and searching for his own sound. Most recently, he was chosen to participate in the 2005 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's emerging artist showcase as a solo acoustic act.

Hand him a guitar of any persuasion, acoustic, electric, bass, or hand him a banjo, he'll make it sing!

Mark Capsalors

(aka "the bongodude")

Vocals, Various Percussion, Hats

Bongodude is all about hand drums or as he states,  “ Congas, Bongos, Blocks and Bells.”  Although his admitted favorite is classic rock, Bongodude has entertained with a multitude of bands from a 7 piece (horn section) funk band, to a Latin Jazz trio, to a full 22 piece orchestra and as the second half of several acoustic duo’s.

Having played every imaginable venue from coffee houses to Casinos, Bongodude is one well rounded player. In his own words:

I just try to add, never subtract.
